A lot of people are known for a lot of tunes, whereas Jah Screechy will be synonymous with just one tune to most people. But what a tune it is! Of course we’re talking about “Walk and Skank”. First released on the Blacker Dread label in 1984, the tune became a massive hit again in 1992 when Slipmatt and Lime aka SL2 put Screechy’s vocals on top of the rave track – “On A Ragga Tip”.
