Teton Gravity Research pushes ahead with the sequel to 2010 epic "Deeper"

In 2010, Teton Gravity Research released Jeremy Jones’ “Deeper“, a pioneering film that took back country free-riding to a whole new level. Bored of dropping in to all his lines by helicopter, Jeremy Jones got a crew together and hiked up to drop into every line. In doing so, Jones and co opened up a new world of terrain previously inaccessible by chopper. The results were jaw dropping.

18 months on and TGR are in the process of making the sequel, “Further” where Jones and the team take things up another notch. Clips are being regularly released on the website and via the TGR podcast and it is set to be a film of truly epic proportions.

With the limits of helicopter landings now firmly removed from the equation the sky is literally the limit. The question is, how far can they push this?

The film is due out later this year. In the mean time, check out the trailer……

Faith SFX is such a don – so talented. I remember seeing him in 2005 at an Immortal Technique concert and he absolutely switched the crowd.

Imagine if he made an album Ed Sheeran style with a loop pedal – that would be too much.

Possibly the best beatboxer in the world.

DJ Fresh is back after the smash hit – ‘Hot Right Now’ with Rita Ora.

The track shot at WMC (Miami Music Conference) – 2012, features the UK’s number 1 MC Dizzee Rascal. Expect this to be one of the biggest tunes of the summer.

I do like the tune, but if I am totally honest, I was hoping for some vintage Bad Company/Elm Street-esque jungle/D&B Fresh with Dizzee spitting hard, raw and double time, rather than the bass music bonanza here. (That being said – Andy C remix below, minus the double time).

Nevertheless, I am sure come festival season this tune will have everyone going ballistic.

Red Bull’s “Supernatural” competition has to be one of the most exciting competitions to take place in the 2011/12 season.

Set in Kootenay Mountains in British Colombia, Canada, the competition was the brainchild of snowboarding legend Travis Rice. He designed the unique freestyle course and brought 18 of the best riders in the world to compete. Travis went on to win the competition and from the clips i’ve seen he put in what can only be described as an epic, epic run. This competition really pushed the boundaries of freestyle competitions which traditionally only use natural features such as cliff drops rather than having a purpose built course. Now that someone had the idea to build a course and actually pulled it off I think we will see many more of these kinds of events.

Here is the trailer for the event to whet your appetite:

Now the bit you’ve been waiting for, click here to watch the full 1hr 20 min episode that NBC aired on Whitelines Snowboarding Magazine.

Well head on down to Squaw Valley and grab yourself a caramel infused extra shot skinny soy latte while putting in some big turns because Starbucks recently opened the first ever ski-thru coffee outlet at the popular North American Resort.

But Starbucks aren’t the first company to open a mountain side outlet. It was in fact McDonald’s that pioneered their McSki concept in Lindvallen in Sweden back in 1996.

So what’s next? Well I don’t think it would be out of the question to see Red Bull open up a Red Bull Cabin or similar at say Whistler Blackcomb. The company’s heavy involvement in the extreme sports industry makes it an ideal candidate for a venture of that sort.

Watch this space!
